Second semester is off to a fast start. AR is in full swing and first graders are reading lots of books. Continue to listen to your children read or read to them if the book is too difficult. They are becoming great readers!
There will be great storytellers in this class; they love to recite their weekly poems. Poems are in folders on Mondays.
Spelling words will be in folders on Mondays if we have words that week.
We are learning math facts to 20 so we have started timed tests--we work to get faster each week.
First Graders should be spending about 15-20 minutes a day on homework.
