Math classes will be expected to work on basics and will try to make math real-life oriented.  Various problem- solving activities will be given to the students. It is essential to practice math skills because as we all know “If you don’t use it, you lose it!”  Homework will be assigned on a daily basis to practice objectives and skills taught. Students will rarely have homework over the weekend.

Fifth and Sixth Grade classes will be allowed to do corrections to raise grades.

The purpose of Algebra I in eighth grade is to allow students to take higher level math courses in high school.  Students will be taught symbolic hands on algebra, verbal representations, and algebraic written expressions and equations.  These teachings will be applied to real world problems.  Technology is a major part of our world today.  In this class, students will be taught how to use the graphing calculator, thus enforcing new technology.
