Fifteen Pringle-Morse students qualified for the All-Region Band at competitions held at Panhandle ISD on Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Over 500 students from 13 school districts met with music and horn in hand to play solo before judges. Those qualifying will participate in a two-day band clinic followed by a concert scheduled January 12th at the Amarillo Civic Center. Students selected for the All-Region Band are Kaysha, clarinet; Reese, trombone; Clancy, percussion; Jennifer, clarinet; Christian, tuba; Erin, flute; Nathan, trumpet; Gena, flute; Jace, trombone; Ismael, 1st alternate trombone; Jace, alto saxophone; Emilynn, 1st alternate clarinet; Beto, tenor saxophone; Hannah, clarinet; and Katelyn, trumpet.
Superintendent Kent Hargis said, “ I am very proud of the success of all our students who have spent hours preparing for the competition. Pringle-Morse CISD will be well represented in the All-Region Band. We are looking forward to the concert.”
Anna Marie Holland directs the Pringle-Morse Band. “Forty-four percent of our band will participate in the very beneficial band activity in January. Only two districts in the region had more students selected than Pringle-Morse. The competition is good for band students and they get a unique opportunity to play music with students from all over the Panhandle,” she said.
The time of the All –Region Band Concert will be announced at a later date.
